Privacy Policy
Piper is an AI mock-interview practice service operated by Vantum Works LLC (“Vantum”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Questions go to privacy@vantumworks.io.

Who this policy applies to
In short:Piper has one kind of user: you, the candidate practicing for your own interviews.
Piper is sold directly to candidates who want to practice interviewing. You are our user and our customer, and Piper evaluates your practice for your benefit. This policy describes how we handle information about you when you use Piper.
Information we collect
In short:Your email; the job description and resume content you provide; the audio and transcript of your mock interview; your feedback reports; and billing and basic operational data.
Account information
- Email address and sign-in. You sign in either with a one-time link sent to your email or with your Google account — there is no password. We store your email address to identify your account and to send sign-in links and necessary service messages. If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive basic profile information Google associates with your account, such as your name, email address, and profile photo.
Interview inputs
- Job description and resume content. When you set up an interview, you provide a job description and your resume. If you upload a file, we extract the text and store that text; we do not retain the original uploaded file. We also store details we derive for the session, such as the role title and company name.
Interview audio and transcript
- Voice recording. During the mock interview we record the audio of the conversation, including your voice, so the system can run the interview and produce your feedback.
- Transcript. A written transcript is generated from the audio and used to produce your feedback report.
Feedback reports
- Your evaluative report. The feedback Piper generates about your performance — per-answer notes, recurring patterns, delivery metrics (such as pace and filler words), and suggestions — is stored in your account so you can return to it.
Billing information
- Payments. Payments are handled by our payment processor (Stripe) through a hosted checkout page. We receive transaction metadata (such as the pack purchased, amount, and status) and a processor-issued customer identifier, but not your full card number. Stripe also screens transactions for fraud.
Usage and operational data
- Logs of actions taken in the product, counts of interviews and credits, billing events, and basic device and browser information needed to operate the service securely.
Advertising on our marketing pages
On our public marketing pages, we may use advertising cookies from Reddit, LinkedIn, or Google to measure our advertising. These cookies collect basic information such as the pages you visit and your IP address. They run only on our marketing pages, not in the signed-in product. You can decline them — see your choices and rights.
If you reach us from one of these ads and then sign up or buy, we may also report that conversion to the advertising partner from our own servers, matched with a hashed, irreversible version of your email. This measurement records only that a sign-up or purchase happened — never any part of your interview, its audio, or your feedback — and it follows the same advertising choices, including Global Privacy Control.
How we use information
In short:To run your mock interview, generate your feedback, support you, take payment, prevent fraud, and meet our legal obligations.
- To conduct your mock interview and generate your feedback report.
- To operate, secure, support, and improve the service.
- To process payments, manage your credits, and prevent fraud and abuse.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
How long we keep information
In short:Your interview audio is deleted after your feedback report is generated. Your transcripts and reports stay in your account until you delete them or close your account.
- Interview audio. Deleted after your feedback report is generated. If a report can’t be produced, the audio is deleted within a limited fallback window.
- Uploaded files. Original uploaded documents are not retained — we keep only the extracted text needed to run your interview.
- Transcripts, interview inputs, and feedback reports. Retained in your account so you can review them, until you delete them or close your account.
- Account and billing records. Retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with tax, accounting, and legal obligations.
- Operational logs. Retained for a short window for security, debugging, and abuse prevention, then aged out.
Security
In short:Encryption in transit and at rest, limited access to production, audit logging.
We protect data in transit with industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest within our service providers’ infrastructure. Access to production data is limited to authorized personnel and is logged.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to apply reasonable, current safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we handle.
Your choices and rights
In short:You can delete your interviews and reports, opt out of advertising cookies, and ask us to delete your account.
You can review and delete your interviews and feedback reports from inside Piper. To export your data or close your account, write to us at privacy@vantumworks.io. Closing your account deletes your content within a reasonable period, except where we’re required to retain certain records.
Advertising cookies. You can opt out of advertising cookies and targeted advertising at any time through your browser’s cookie controls, a Global Privacy Control signal, or by emailing us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — such as those under the CCPA/CPRA or the GDPR — to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@vantumworks.io. We won’t discriminate against you for exercising them.
Children
In short:Piper is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Piper is intended for individuals 18 and older. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
International users
In short:Piper is run from the United States. Data may be processed there and in other countries.
Piper is operated from the United States, and our service providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from those of your home country.
Changes to this policy
In short:We may update this policy. We'll bump the date and notify you of material changes.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll revise the Effective Date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you — for example, by email or in-product notice.
